As a freshman at Alabama in 2016, Jacobs split time with Damien Harris and Bo Scarbrough, rushing 85 times for 567 yards and four touchdowns. After the season, it was revealed that he had been playing on a broken ankle for most of the season. During his first season in Green Bay last year, Jacobs rushed for 1,329 yards and 15 touchdowns to earn his third career Pro Bowl season. Wilson had 11 carries for 40 yards and a touchdown in Jacobs’ absence, while Brooks had one carry for 8 yards and a key blitz pickup late in the game.

In the following week against the Chiefs, Jacobs ran for a career-high 154 yards on 21 carries in a 30–29 loss. In the next game, against the Houston Texans, he had 20 carries for 143 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns in the 38–20 victory. Jacobs was the NFL rushing yards leader with 340 attempts, 1,653 rushing yards, and 12 rushing touchdowns.
Jacobs was labeled questionable to return, and then was ruled out of the game due to the knee injury. Elsewhere on the injury report, LaFleur classified kicker Brandon McManus as day-to-day after he missed Sunday’s game upon re-aggravating his right quad injury. The Packers were able to do further tests the day after the game to determine the severity of the injury. It also appears likely that defensive end Lukas Van Ness plays in Week 12 against the Vikings for the first time since suffering a foot injury in Week 6. Van Ness practiced in a limited capacity last Thursday and Friday for the first time since the injury, but didn’t play on Sunday.
